Register Today: CORE’s Cultural Orientation Objectives and Indicators Webinar Series

Register today for CORE’s 2-part Cultural Orientation Objectives and Indicators (O&Is) webinar series! Together, these 60-minute webinars will help individuals working in resettlement understand and use the O&Is. Individuals will learn about how the Cultural Orientation O&Is create a continuum of messaging and identify concrete steps to incorporate the revised Overseas and Domestic O&Is in their work. Each webinar will have a morning and afternoon session to accommodate a variety of time zones.  

Who are these webinars for? CORE encourages any individual working in refugee resettlement and who delivers Cultural Orientation key messages to attend these webinars. This includes and is not limited to: processing staff, case managers, employment specialists, ESL instructors, community partners and sponsors, volunteers, directors, and more. Individuals are encouraged to attend both webinars outlined below: 

Webinar 1: What are the Cultural Orientation Objectives and Indicators?: 9 am or 2 pm EDT on Tuesday, May 16 
What are the Cultural Orientation Objectives and Indicators (O&Is) and why am I asked to use them in Cultural Orientation delivery? In this webinar, you’ll learn about the critical role the O&Is play in Cultural Orientation delivery and how the recent updates strengthen Cultural Orientation programming. By the end of this session, you will: 

  • Explain why it is important for any individual working in refugee resettlement to be familiar with the O&Is; 
  • Explain the updates made to the O&Is and how these updates strengthen Cultural Orientation programming; and 
  • Identify CORE resources available to help you learn and train others on the O&Is.  


Webinar 2: How to Use the Cultural Orientation Objectives and Indicators?: 9 am or 2 pm EDT on Tuesday, May 23 
Struggling to identify the next steps to take with the revised Cultural Orientation O&Is? In this webinar, you’ll identify concrete steps to incorporate the revised O&Is into your work. By the end of this session, you will: 

  • Identify the steps to incorporate the O&Is in Cultural Orientation programming; 
  • Draft an action plan to apply the revised Cultural Orientation O&Is; and 
  • Identify CORE resources and upcoming training available to support you in using the O&Is.
