COVID-19 Resources

The 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) causes respiratory illness that can spread from person to person. The pandemic is currently impacting the United States and other countries worldwide. Cultural Orientation providers have an important role to play in keeping refugees healthy and stopping the spread of COVID-19. To assist resettlement offices in disseminating simple and accurate information about the COVID-19 outbreak, CORE and Switchboard compiled a list of fact sheets, posters, multimedia, and live-updated links which are featured below.

CORE also developed a Resettling to the United States During the COVID-19 Pandemic lesson plan and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) which CO providers can use to keep refugees informed with credible, accurate information about COVID-19 and its impact on their resettlement. The lesson plan also includes links to other critical CORE and CDC resources. CO providers can also access CORE’s two COVID-19 fact sheets, Resettling to the United States during the COVID-19 Pandemic and COVID-19: Understanding Guidance and Rules, on the Health section on COREnav.

To ensure that local CO providers are equipped to discuss COVID-19 in Cultural Orientation, please see the critical information below.  This page was last updated July 1st, 2020.
