Webinar 13: Using Volunteers in Cultural Orientation

More resettlement organizations are going beyond inviting community guests for Cultural Orientation, recruiting volunteers for different roles as trainers, interpreters, childcare assistants, and more.

During this 45-minute webinar, you will receive tools and tips to engage volunteers in Cultural Orientation and review CORE’s new promising practice document, which includes guidance on recruiting, onboarding, and managing your team of volunteers. A panel of Cultural Orientation experts discuss their agency’s use of volunteers, share their experience, and answer questions during a Q&A session.

Webinar 12: Addressing Hygiene in Cultural Orientation

Discussing hygiene norms with refugees arriving to the United States is a vital, but sometimes difficult task. To better assist resettlement staff and refugees, CORE developed new resources focused on personal hygiene, maintaining a clean home, and respecting public places. The resources include a fact sheet, podcast, and supplemental lesson plan.

During this 30-minute webinar, participants explore these resources and participate in a Q&A session with a Cultural Orientation provider from the field.

Webinar 11: Preparing New Providers to Deliver Cultural Orientation

In this 29-minute webinar, CORE explores The Cultural Orientation Provider Onboarding Toolkit. This toolkit was developed to assist supervisors and new providers to prepare for and navigate Cultural Orientation delivery together. During this webinar participants learn about how to access and use the various tools in the toolkit, and have the opportunity to ask questions about its application.
