CORE is excited to release translated slide decks for the domestic CO curriculum, The Road Ahead! The presentations are now available to download in Arabic, Burmese, Dari, Kinyarwanda, Pashto, Russian, Spanish, Swahili, and Ukrainian, in addition to English.
Six months ago, CORE launched a new domestic Cultural Orientation (CO) curriculum, The Road Ahead. The curriculum is a foundational resource, built around the updated Cultural Orientation Objectives and Indicators (CO O&Is), which can strengthen and streamline your organization’s Cultural Orientation delivery. It incorporates best practices in adult learning, including reducing cognitive load and using student-centered activities and Settle In multilingual resources to engage participants.
The Road Ahead contains easy-to-use, adaptable materials for Cultural Orientation providers, including a curriculum guide, four session planning guides, and four session slide decks. The materials can be used with minimal modifications, or adapted to reflect your organization’s specific services, needs, and goals.
Providers can further customize their Cultural Orientation sessions by using the translated slides and activities, reducing the cognitive load for newcomers. These slides are intended to be shown to newcomers while the facilitator uses the English-language session planning guide and notes. To access the translated slides:
- Scroll down on The Road Ahead webpage to the “Session Guides and Presentation Materials” section.
- Click on each of the four sessions.
- Click the link to the slide deck in the desired language.
- Download from Google Slides.
