The Online Cultural Orientation Certification Course is an interactive, self-paced course, designed for resettlement staff and volunteers that implement and deliver Cultural Orientation. Learners may take lessons at any time and in any order. Course are free and can be accessed at any time. 

Lessons are designed to establish foundational knowledge of the United States Refugee Admissions Program and help you improve your lesson delivery to adult learners. Each lesson takes approximately 20 to 40 minutes to complete. You can begin a lesson and return to it at a later time.

The course is designed for individuals working directly in refugee resettlement and engaged in implementation or delivery of Cultural Orientation. Others who work in refugee resettlement may also find value.

Each lesson takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes to complete. You can begin a lesson and return to it at a later time; the system will remember where you left off.

Yes, like all of CORE’s resources, the Online Cultural Orientation Certification Course is free.

CORE will only approve one account per user. If you need technical assistance accessing a registered account, please contact us.

CORE uses the registration form to verify users and ensure we are providing resources and support to all who work in refugee resettlement. Data collection is aligned with CORE’s privacy policy.

You will receive a confirmation email acknowledging your registration, and within two business days you will receive a second email confirming your account has been approved. At times, you may receive a follow-up email as part of the registration verification process.
