Do you want to build your skills to work effectively with newcomers? Are you interested in ways you can improve your agencies’ Cultural Orientation delivery? If you said yes to either of these questions, consider registering for CORE’s in-person Cultural Orientation (CO) Knowledge Exchange Workshop!
| Participants will: | • Build skills to manage common challenges that naturally arise during the resettlement process and Cultural Orientation; • Learn about The Road Ahead curriculum and other CORE resources that support effective Cultural Orientation delivery; • Identify practical ways to improve your agencies’ Cultural Orientation delivery; and • Network with other individuals working in refugee resettlement. |
| Where & When: | CORE will host two workshops to accommodate as many participants as possible. Individuals are encouraged to attend the workshop that is closest to their location. • Silver Spring, MD workshop on Monday, Feb. 26 • Chicago, IL workshop on Thursday, Feb. 29 |
| Time: | 10 am – 4:30 pm, local time, with a 1-hour lunch provided Starting at 10 am allows time for individuals from nearby cities to travel to the event. |
| Location/Venue: | • The Silver Spring, MD workshop will be held at the Silver Spring Civic Building at Veterans Plaza. • The Chicago, IL workshop location is to be determined. Details will be shared as they become available. |
